A few of the new machines
The first two were part of a group of three I got for $30. I really wanted the Davis, and the MN is nice too. The third turned out to be a 1904 Singer 27 reconditioned with the crinkle finish - for some reason, the seller thought it was a Necchi - but after seeing the machine in person I was pretty sure what it actually was. So I've got another 27 for parts . . .
Here is the Davis - this is the vertical feed model. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps661b325f.jpg And the Minnesota. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps96a6aac6.jpg I have not tried to figure out what model number this MN is - but I assume it's also made by Davis. Though it appears there is a "C" decal up near the flywheel. Does that indicate it's a model C ? Both of these came with a shuttle and bobbin. And one more - this one I bought off ebay for $90 including shipping. It came with one bobbin and the case. The motor was in pieces so I asked the seller not to ship it. Glad I did, based on how this was packed I figured it would have been including loose in the case. It was shipped Fed-Ex and was sitting on our doorstep upside down when we came back from the store on Saturday. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psf88107d1.jpg I'm going to have to set up one treadle base that I can interchange machines on, since I've somehow ended up with so many different treadle machines suddenly. |
Wow..they all look great! Lucky you!

Nice! I am looking for a "mint" decal WW9 for the museum, I already have the base. Hard to find one that is both great decals AND not overpriced...
Great score! Oh, and remember W&W's run the opposite direction of Singers |
Nice bunch of machines. The Minnesota is a Model C made by Davis for Sears and uses the same shuttle and bobbin as your Vertical Feed. VF uses 15x1 needle and "C" uses Davis long.

Nice machines! :)

Great machines!

Beautiful machines, but I especially like the WW!

That's one of the nicest Minnesotas I've seen. I looked at one in IA that was in bad shape & the guy wanted $100 for it. You are lucky!

Great deals for you! I wish I had more room,... so i could fill it with more machines!!:o

Hey GreyQ - are you interested in the MN? I'm going to be heading into the Twin Cities in a few weeks, will be driving along I-90
I really don't have interest in keeping the MN, all I wanted was the Davis, but they seller wanted $30 for all three, and wanted them all gone. If you are interested, give me a PM - and if you are looking for more, I've also got a nice Free Westinghouse and several older Singers. These are all "as found" machines that can be either fixed up or used for parts. I've also got a very nice back clamp Red Eye that is going to need a new home (no cabinet though) but that one will go for a bit more money than they ones I need to clear out. |
