Finally got my Pfaff!!

I finally was able to go pick up my DMILs Pfaff 130. Mom passed away in 2014 at age 102. She sewed on this machine until her eyesight went at age 100. It has all the original documents and accessories. It took me a while to figure it out... I'm pretty much a Singer kind of girl, but it really works well.
Also, it's nice to have another machine in a cabinet besides my treadle. |
Oh you are so lucky to have such a wonderful gift from your mother I love Pfaff s I have 5 and love them
|
Lucky you - great machine and you know that it has been very well taken care of.

Congrats! that is a great machine and super great because it's "family". DH has one like that, with the decorative stitch add on (called the Coffee grinder). Love that access door - otherwise dealing with the bobbin is difficult!
|
That is completely awesome! I love it when machines get to stay in the family. It's a beautiful machine, too.
Congratulations!! |
That is a real beauty. Thanks for showing it.

Lucky you, the machine is beautiful!

Oh, you lucky duck! What a pleasure to have that wonderful family machine!
|
Beautiful desk that it's in. Great grain matching on the wood and nice hardware too.

What a gift! Looks like she took excellent care. Shows pride of ownership. Love how that cabinet shines! ANd the machine.

Oh! that is a gorgeous machine. Your Momma lived a good long life didn't she? How nice. And she took care of her fine machine. I guess it was your DMIL.
|
I love how the bobbin access door swings out to be part of the support of the table leaf!
|
Good for you, pfaff made really great machines, I have 3 and love all of them.
|
You will love tht machine just as your mother did.
|
Oh I am jealous. What a wonderful gift. That machine is beautiful.

Lucky lucky you! Pfaff is a great machine. I have four, two of which you see in my avatar, a mechanical 262 and then on left side is an embroidery machine, Pfaff 2170. I do have a Pfaff 130, and by serial number it was made in 1950, and says on front Made in Germany, not Made in West Germany like the later models have. I bought mine from a Pfaff dealer in San Antonio and he totally serviced it first. Later I found a Pfaff cabinet at Goodwill, with the little oval hole to put my hand through to pull the bobbin, but it is not the drawer type cabinet like yours. I felt lucky to find a Pfaff cabinet for $16.99!! It is a wonderful machine. My newest Pfaff is the Performance 5.0, but I love my two mechanical Pfaffs, my "go to" machines!

What a great family heirloom. Since she had the documentation on the ownership, serial number, did she also have the sales receipt? Just curious what she paid for it in 1954, same year I was born.
I bought a Pfaff Creative 7510 in 1995 and paid $1800.00. Quite a bit more, for sure, than what your mom paid for hers in 1954, but, maybe not, relatively speaking. Was Walter your dad? Perhaps it was an early Christmas present.... Thanks for sharing. |
She is a beauty..enjoy..
