Finally got a treadle, finally got pic uploaded
 

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my *new* treadle. I know it is a model 15 but would like fo find out what the sub-model is. Could anyone help identify it, please? I finally figured out how to resize and upload YEA for me! I hope my pics come thru.

thank you! there is a belt around the wheel that is round and quite thick. I am trying to figure what it is for. I thought it might have to do with the bobbin. It is elastic - definitely NOT the leather belt for the wheel/treadle 'gear'

Need to clean the head and treadle base. Need serious oiling, but the cabinet is a real beauty too.

That looks like a typical belt if it had a motor. Does not belong if you are going to use it in a treadle base. It's real easy to put a motor or hand crank on these machines - or take them off and put the machine in a treadle cabinet.

I have a 127 with that decal pattern, and a couple of 15-30's with other decal patterns.

I absolutely want to keep it as a treadle. I have wanted one for years. My mother's got burned up in a fire. My sister had it and she was 8 months pregnant. They just got out with their lives. I have looked and looked. There was one for sale here for $2,300. This one was listed as $175 which would have been a steal as all the other ones I looked at were quite trashed - head and cabinet, and they were wanting $300+ for them. Since the bobbin winder rubber was rotted, she came down $25. I am very pleased with it. The cabinet is beautiful and the wheel etc. moves like butter.

Congratulations on getting a treadle and also for posting pictures. The decals are beautiful. Are you close to some place you can get a leather treadle belt and bobbin winder tire? There are several places to get them online, including sew-classic.

I'm thinking that your machine may be a 15K26 since the serial number indicates that it was made in Kilbowie. According to http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mach...sses-1-99.html the 15k30 is an industrial model with Wheel feed and a roller presser. A resource for refurbishing various models of treadle sewing machines is http://www.tfsr.org/publications/tec...achine_manual/ Lots of good information there. From my understanding, the 15K26 shortens or lengthen the stitch length differently from other 15 class machines.
