I have a little green 185 J, too and spent $20 on it. Just too cute to pass up and sews well.

Yes, I believe that it is a Singer 185. As far as I know, Singer made those 185s in "K"s and "J"s, Kilbowie Scotland and St Jean Canada, respectfully. Folks usually refer to the 185 as the "99 in a new dress", since it's essentially the same workings as a Singer Model 99. I can't tell from the photo is it's a "K" or a "J". Macy.....?
