Very nice looking machine. You will have fun using it.

I doubt if any of us would pass up a machine like yours...even if we simply kept it for a backup machine. Congratulations on your "new" machine!

I have this New Home and I bought new in 1969 I think. I still have it and have used it for cloths, curtains and for covering furniture and car seats. It is a tough machine and sews great.

What a beauty! Welcome to the board from Illinois. I basically only make quilts but have sewn all sorts of things over the years. Several years ago I purchased a new Viking Sapphire. I have since learned I really prefer old heavy metal machines. I will warn you collecting these wonderful old machines is addictive.

welcome to the board Sonny, and the joy of sewing. Lovely replacement machine. Those plastic gears from the 60's were Singers first real mistake. You can find replacement gears occasionally from someone parting out their machine, but they might only last 10 minutes so best to move on like you have.

Very Pretty. Is it left homing?

If by that you mean needle in the left position is normal yes it is, the guide marks on the needle plate are all marked from the needle in left position. To have any kind of guide mark for quarter inch I have to use needle right and use presser foot as guide
