Fixing Featherweight Tension Issues

6 Attachment(s)
Last night I was working on a Featherweight with tension issues. I thought some might find is useful to have a list of things to check when working on tension issues:

1) Check to make sure the machine is properly threaded

2) Flat side of needle should be facing left if you are sitting in front of the machine

3) Thread should go in through the right side of the needle

4) Make sure bobbin case is properly threaded

5) The position finger on the bobbin case is the notch of the throat plate

6) Make sure bobbin case tension is not too loose or too tight

7) Make sure upper tension knob is correctly assembled

8) Check for thread nest behind the bobbin carrier

I resolved my tension issues by tightening the tension on the bobbin case, so I stopped hunting for tension causing issues. Please list other causes of tension issues (and their solutions).
