It is a little different than I was imagining. I was thinking that it was a screw through the table top and into the wood. It has been a while since I have seen the top :o. I'm kind of estimating that the bottom bulge (that shows above the table) is approximately a little over an inch in diameter and the wood under the top bumper is probably about 3/4 to 7/8 inch in diameter????

Close. The bottom bulge is .950", below the rubber it's .740". Rubber bumper is .500" wide.

What does this bumper do? Catch a tilted machine after the coffin top is off?

When you tilt the machine back to access the underside, it keeps it from going too far and damaging the hinges.

That was my guess. I just got mine on Friday.

Wow, I haven't been over here in a while. I need a like button. It is amazing that those old machines in rough shape can be revived and could see another 100 years. The best thing for them, too. The TR3 is a good product for that machine. I have an old White I tried it on but results are better with French polishing. I think it is a matter of having enough finish left to work with when using the TR3. It doesn't do well when it is really rough. Now I need to get that removed and see what shellac can do. My White will never again be beautiful unless I repaint but it could sew another 100 years. I do not have an ultrasound cleaner but I do spend a lot of elbow grease cleaning little metal bits.
