Foley and Williams 'Goodrich B'

Hi all,
I have been trying to locate information regarding Foley and Williams 'Goodrich B' machine. I have found lots of information regarding the company's aquistions and change of hands but nothing about dating machines themselves.

The serial number is 348700 and the last patent date on the rear slide plate is Oct 25, 1898 (this is the latest of the three dates on the plate).

Thanks in advance,
best,
d

I don't think anyone's tried dating these machines Deb.... the best I've been able to find today was that the machine is circa 1890-1910, and since yours has a slide plate with a date of Oct. 1898, you know it had to be made after that, so the machine in question is most likely 1900-1910...
The picture I found is of a really pretty machine! :)

Is this the one you just bought?

Hi Miriam,
No, the F & W was given to me. The one you are asking about is a Davis LA, VF, circa 1882, or earlier. It's over on the V & A Machines, Come and sit a spell forum. Go take a look.

Best,
d
