I found this a my local goodwill yesterday. It was priced at $30.00 but found out when I paid for it that it was half price day! Now to clean it up and figure out how to replace the spool pin which is missing. I didn't get any attachments but it does have the controller and cords and it does run.:o

The serial number dates it as a 1957 and it is a 201. Notice the little drawer that opens to the left.

If nothing else- you have a cute cabinet for a machine that does work. Win- win.

The 201 machines are wonderful. You scored on that one. Spool pins are available from Sew-Classic.

Nice cabinet and the machine is great, along with the price. Try sew-classic for the spool pin.

schuu6p,

Nice machine, nice cabinet. The spool pins on that machine are screw in. They go into the flat disk just to the left of the larger curved one. You can get them at Sew-Classic.

Thanks Joe, I was hoping it was a screw in pin. I need to make up an order for Sew-Classic. I need some electric wire for motor for a Singer 66 too.

That is the same cabinet that came with my 401A in 1958. I still have my machine in it. Mine is wood stained.

Crafty pat,
Someone painted this cabinet. I think it may be blonde wood underneath the paint. Not sure yet. I have just started cleaning on the machine and it is going to take a few days to clean it up. Also, the machine doesn't set quite level--it s resting on 2 screws. I think it might be missing a wood strip for the lip of the machine to rest on. Does yours have a wood strip along the front side where the machine sets?

Nice find and what a great price! I like the painted cabinet looks!
