Forgotten sewing treasures

Last night I was removing some disintegrated seam binding from a steering wheel cover my mom made for my step son a long time ago. Somehow we got it, I guess to repair it and it got burried and forgotten.
As I was doing that my wife was searching through boxes and boxes of things looking for patterns she knows she has but can't find.
She found a small white box and didn't remember ever seeing it. In the box was a small zip loc bag with a felt spool pad and 10 brand new presser foot thumb screws. And a paper bag with 100 nice fat felt spool pads. The receipt from the eBay seller was dated 1-3-01. My wife does not remember buying them, let alone why she bought them.
But one thing is for sure, we'll not run out of spool pads any time soon. :)

We put new bias tape on the steering wheel cover today and will be sending it back to my step son for Christmas.

Isn't that nice? The felt spool pads are not nice and thick anymore....I think they are almost thin enough to need two...and thumb screws....well,you can never have enough of those.....hehe

What great finds!! The pads are always nice to have around. Fun to give step-son back a bit of novelty history-?
