Found an old sewing machine, need to identifying please!

Hello everyone! New user here! I found this site while looking for a way to identify an old sewing machine I came upon. The machine looks to be from the 1960s and has a plackard logo that reads "Belvedere Adler" on the front. Research suggests its a Japanese clone of some sort and the knee pedal seems to corroborate this as it reads "made in Japan." The model number "190f" has rendered in fruitsin my search. As is, the motor and light work well, but the machine is missing bobbins, a sewing foot,a bobbin case, ans needles.If anyone can provide any clues as to what machine this might clone, and where I can find spare parts I would be so grateful! Thank you all!

It is a Japanese made made machine. The Belvedere / Adler is who sold it, not who made it.
The J-A 18 indicates it was made by Riccar or possibly Toyota. It will use standard Class 15 Bobbins and bobbin cases. Needle system: 15x1 On needle packages you'll find this info: Singer: 2020 (15x1), 2026 Denim/Jeans, 2045 Ball Points Schmetz: 130/705H 15x1H Organ: HAx1 130/705H 15x1 From your pics I can't tell if it's low shank or a high shank machine so go to Sew-Classic and read up on their section on how to determine that. It also may be a left homing machine (needle parks to the left on straight stitch) as I don't see a L-M-R lever or knob. A regular ZZ foot of the appropriate type will work as you have a ZZ needle plate. You'll need a presser foot thumb screw and a needle clamp. You "might" be able to find all of these at Sew-Classic { http://www.shop.sew-classic.com/ } if not you'll need to hit up all the local sewing machine shops and or eBay. Good luck on your project. Daniel When you have your needle in it and a foot on it you will see if the needle goes down in the center of the hole/foot or to the left. There is nothing bad about left homing but lots of people prefer center. My other computer makes it easy for me to look up old posts but if you search Japanese sewing machine with zig zag or Japanese sewing machines with fancy stitches you may find an old thread I started with a lot of info about the Japanese machines. Joe is right sew- classic should have parts for your machine. |

Welcome aboard! Just think, this may be the first machine of your collection! If you hang out here, you will become infected with SMAD (Sewing Machine Attachment(or Acquisition) Disorder.

Looks like Joe gave you all the information you need to get started. I will add there are a few different styles of class 15 bobbin case. Chances are good that this is the one you need.
