Found at thrift shop today

Seen a Montgomery Ward black sewing machine in cabinet today. Model 1854(?) #69895(?) give or take a number, but knowing my memory... It looked small, but it could have been sleep deprivation (I now work nights). No pics. Did not look like it had any missing parts, but no extra parts either. Decals were all in mint condition. Wheel turned easily. Get this......ta dah they only wanted $7.00 for it. Unfortunately, I already have to many machines and had no place to put this one. Heavy sigh. Anyone interested?

Isn't it so hard to walk away from those kind of deals? My dh told me I can't "collect" treadle machines. Can you imagine!!?? lol He said I really need to find something smaller to collect, so I said ok. Dust it is!! lol

mountain deb, It is hard to pass up inexpensive, metal machines that you know will sew on forever. We need to buy bigger houses, I guess. I have two treadles and several smaller machines plus a Bernina 153 QE that I use most of the time. I try not to look at machines at Goodwill anymore. Our local Goodwill seems to be raising their prices so maybe that won't be a problem for me in the future.

Hey, sewnbug, I collect those little "dust bunnies" also. They are so cute and don't eat much either. The best and least demanding pets I have ever had.

I never find any good deals on machines. Most of the time they look horrible and they want so much for them. I'll have to travel out of the state to find a deal I guess.

Goodwill.com!!! I love the place, & it sure is hard to pass up on all of those machines! (Hint: Type sewing in the search, not sewing machines.)

Oh dublb, I've spent the last 2 hours on shopgoodwill.com. You are so bad to send people there. I want, I want....

Yeah, me too!! I want... I want... I want.... check the shipping, that usually helps me. This is only the third thing that I've bought in the last year. I go & look about every other day. But I do love that sewing box.:)
