Franklin sewing machine
 

My step daughter has a Franklin model # 133018 machine that was her grandmother in laws. ANy value to it??
It works fine and in mint condition. She would like to sell it. Thank you

I would look on eBay at completed auctions to see what they sold for. You can also look at Craigslist to see what folks are asking for theirs. Many times the prices are a lot higher than the actual worth. Check to see if there are a lot of the style of machine rather than the brand.

nice machines - we don't do appraisals here. If you ask about 90% of QB members, they paid about $5 for one like it and theirs was in mint condition - any body can say anything on line...

Location- Location- Condition- Location. Many folks buy treadles to make tables- use the irons and pitch the rest, or sell the drawers on EBay. Sad but true. Very few treadles are rare or valuable. Very good condition with no rust or cabinet damage, completely intact decals and attachments might bring $50 - $75 in MA/upstate NY despite the EBay and Craigslist dreamers unless you luck into a collector lusting after it. Many folks think Old = Gold around here.

Location is a big part of it. We had a plumber come in a few days ago and when he saw all the sewing machines laying around he told us his wife just bought a multi thousand $$$$$$$$ Bernina. He also said that she had been looking for a treadle machine, but couldn't find one. In some areas they are all but extinct. I have 5 with a 6th under repair and I'll buy and refurb them any time I can. There will come a day that even the run of the mill treadles will be hard to find. I've seen it happen in other venues.

The value of anything actually is what someone will pay for it. I see all the time what "good deals" many members have run across this board. I have yet to see anything similar with maybe one exception at an estate sale. Friend of mine got a singer in the cabinet (a newer model) with all attachments and manual, extra thread, bobbins, feet, $75.00. Everything in great condition. Best deal I've ever run across myself. Have seen nothing that good since.
