Free westing house model 303
My sister has my mother's Free Westing House Model 303. She lives in Ft. Smith, AR, and had taken the machine to the LSM guy. After sitting at the service center for a couple of weeks, she got tired of waiting for him to call her. When she got the machine back, just guess what was missing! The slide plate, of course! My son is trying to find one here in Ft. Smith, but just in case he cannot locate one, does anyone have an extra or know where I can purchase one. Pleased send me a PM! Thanks.

Does the LSM guy have an explanation for what happened to it? I would be in his face to insist he be the one replacing it.

x2 on this... I'd be all over their backside....

X3 on this. He'd not only be replacing it, he'd be coughing up the original one that probably accidentally found it's way on another machine.
No excuse for that kind of nonsense. Joe |

Did she check the floorboard of her car?

I'd say it's on the SMG to replace it too. I wouldn't use him again.

x6 on that! I would not be mad, I would be HOPPING, SPITTING mad! The machine was in his possession so he is responsible.... And, that tells us all - BEWARE and always open up the machine before removing it from the store to ensure it is all intact. I had my Janome 9000 cleaned and serviced, and when I got it home and opened it up, I can't believe he did anything to it. There were dust bunnies still in it and on the needle shaft, and a black mark on the bed of the machine that I thought would be cleaned off. I asked my neighbor, who takes her machine to another shop, how clean her machine is when she gets it back from servicing, and she told me that hers is immaculate and looks brand new. Go figure - I'll NOT take a machine there any more! There were other issues as well, but I won't go into that.
