Free-Westinghouse Model 803 still looking for cams or manual help
 

I am still looking for help on this machine. There seems to be very few of this model made It is the 803 not the 803A which there are many on the web out there. This machine was a find and there were no cams or manual, so am trying to find what the cams look like or a picture or anything that would lead me to get this machine functioning to its fullest.. thank you for any help you can give me. The cam door area is small about 1 1/4 inches in diameter. The only cam I found would fit through the opening so far are the brother cams but they don't fit the spindle as the opening over the spindle is larger than the machines. Thank you everyone for help. It is made by Riccar Japan, however any Riccar cams are way too large for this machine that I have found.

My wife and I found her grandmother's old sewing machine. It's a Free Westinghouse 803 made by Riccar Japan. I'll snap a pic of the cam end for you shortly.

Do you know how to use this sewing machine? It's a complete enigma to us.

I am searching for manual for this one and the 803A, this machine is 803 from looking at the badge?

I will see if anyone in VSM knows about the cams, and what they look like. Good chance this machine was badged under many names, have someone looking into that now to see if can find manual under another name.

Meljean, I'm thinking the 803A has built-in cams. I'm thinking that it is very close to Deluxe Zig Zag #25 (KAB-M) at http://www.sewusa.com/Sewing_Machine...g_Machines.htm The ZZ stitches look close, except for having additional steps. Also the feed dog drop is on the stitch length knob, instead of on the bed.

I couldn't find one similar to the the 803 that has the door in the front of the arm for cams to be placed in.
