Fun Day about a Singer 114W103

So a customer came into the LFS where I work today and asked if her machine was something we'd sell (which we do on consignment). She didn't have the machine with her but had pictures and I was baffled other than realizing it was industrial. The customer just wanted it out of her husband's workshop and needed info on it to sell it. The machine had 2 plates with ID's on it so I called the Singer hotline and got a nice older southern lady (I realized as I said "ma'am" a lot) who didn't identify it by the serial number but when I told her the 114w103 part she got really excited. (Did I mention I was on hold for 40 minutes? The customer finally went to run more errands and I agreed to call her with my info.)
The Singer rep was more than happy to point me to a manual and tell me it was (is) a chain stitch embroidery machine and that the learning speed was 600 (!) stitches/minute. My customer was happy she could dig out a manual for it and try to sell it, though I still don't think she has a value for it determined yet.
As I called the customer back at the end of the day, one of our younger customers (high school age) was in the store. She got all excited about the machine and then there were youtube videos. I love it when young sewers and quilters get excited over old machines! Yup, my job is awesome but this machine is kinda too.

It looks much like this silver one:

Hi,

There called Cornely sewing machines and are quite valuable to those that use them.

Thanks! Good to know. The customer bought it in a lot with some other things at an estate sale so she didn't quite know what to make of it. After seeing the videos I kinda want to try it for out myself but I don't know that I'd get enough use out of it to justify buying one.
