FW bottom coverplate stinks

They multiplied! and I have a baby! and her bottom stinks! Hello, I have a featherweight 221-1 that I am "babysitting" for and the felt cover on the bottom cover pad is oil soaked and has a musty moldy smell to it. can I replace it? I have bought a piece of felt to replace it, but was wondering if I do ... do I decrease the value! I did a search on how to get rid of the smell and found out about white vinegar. but the smell on just this wants to stay.
thank you

You can buy new felt for your featherweight. I haven't checked on the price but since they last so long I think I would get a replacement over making my own.

I replace the felt drip pad liners all the time on mine (I have 6) and it helps a lot. You can order them from several places and they are cheap..

Toss the drip pad, purchase a new one. I use kerosene to clean the pans. Do it outside because it is flammable. Let the kerosene evaporate and voila, that pan will be ready for a new pad.

Contact www.novamontgomery.com

Nova would be happy to supply you with a new pad. While at the website .... check out other items that she has for the FWs. She also has Tips of the Month that are very interesting.
