Are you still in Kansas City by chance? I have a free-westinghouse that needs a home, cabinet included! ;) Otherwise it's going on CL for free this weekend.

Good thing you wasn't with me recently...I went to a new thrift store and there was 5 diff kind machine and all was at 75% off! New home, singer and a old Kenmore !
One was a treadle base without machine And no...I didn't buy any, no money that day!! Lol |
If I counted right, we're coming home with 8. Still have to load the Singer 12, but the others are there.
Japanese "Dashboards" White Morse Dressmaker SBF (similar to the Morse) Singer 12 Wilcox & Gibbs And for parts Pfaff 130 Ge Sewhandy |
Nice find even if it's just a parts machine on the GE. IIRC those are the ones that are rumored to be the precursor to the featherweight aren't they?

Cathy - Sounds like fun going with you DH!!! You certainly have luck finding them!! I found 2 Singers a few days ago at the Sally Ann thrift store (1 frozen & one missing parts) but they were asking lots of $ so I will keep looking and if they are still there in a month maybe they will be cheaper.

I didn't count right. Forgot about the really nice singer 185 in a case the my friend gave DH.

I posted about the Singer 12 separately - here are the other 8.
http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps1f45aacf.jpg GE Sewhandy - for parts, but it does have the older style face plate - and bobbin and case. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps268950bd.jpg Pfaff 130 frozen and very rusty underneath, missing parts but has some we needed for our 130. It will go for parts. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psb9c42063.jpg The next three are all left homing - they are for display, but I do prefer that they'll be in working condition. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psed294d9a.jpg This one is missing the tension dial, but I found the parts in the case of attachments that came with it. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...pse592563e.jpg Will need some work though. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps3e5e8f4a.jpg The Fotomatic IV - this one is very pretty http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psa4208fbc.jpg And the White - this one is center homing and takes cams. At least it came with one so hopefully I can find more. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps2571bcb4.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps3891da00.jpg The Singer 185, because my husband is partial to green Singers. http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...ps66fc5c78.jpg http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c3...psde9efcbf.jpg |
