Great video- but what machine?

see this BBC link and watch the treadle in the top video. It reminds me of a Singer 101, but I am not familiar with whatever brand this machine is- I don't think it is a singer, but I bet it is vintage(even though you can buy new Singer 15's in India now...)

You mean the clip that runs over and over in the back ground? I can't see enough of it to identify, but there were lots of industrial treadles with presser bar knee lift (the metal rod in the back of the machine). I've also seen early treadle zigzaggers with the parts that control the swing needle parts running externally along the machine body both in the front and in the back. This looks like a straight stitcher though. It could be a Singer, other brands I've seen have been Gritzner, Mundlos, and lots of others. I guess it's an industrial model, not a domestic like the 101.

I'd say it's an industrial version, it's too large for a domestic machine.

not sure what about it would remind someone of a 101- since that was the first potted motor electric machine.

I don't know the machine either, but if you continue to watch the videos it is quite interesting, thank you for the link.
