Greist attachments

I just bought some sewing attachments at an estate sale - they're in boxes but not labeled with a part number.
  • There was a tin that said zig zag accessories, and on the left it said "left needle position" - and it had some feet in it - I'll have to go home to sort them out.
  • Oh, and one other box had a buttonholer with templates and manual - it looks like it's for a straight shank machine too.
  • And there was one other box of feet in a green singer box, but no part number. shucks.
  • Anyhow, my main question is: Another box had Greist attachments - it looks like they're for straight shank machine, so they won't work on my 301a - but will they work with the new "plastic" machines, e.g. my Kenmore 19233 that uses snap on feet?
Thanks - this forum is an incredible resource!

Ellietow,

To use the low shank Greist feet and attachments, you'll have to removed the adapter from the presser foot shaft on the new Kenmore. It will "most likely" be low shank machine. If not places like Sew-Classic have tutorials on how to tell what shank your machine has. Some of the newer machines that have the snap on feet don't have a thumb screw, they have a slotted screw. It's the same thread as a thumb screw so you can get one of those most anyplace.
