help with bobbins pls
2 Attachment(s)
I've only recently begun collecting vintage machines. I have a couple 66's and 15's. I think I got the bobbins mixed up when I was cleaning the machines. Now I need a bobbin and I don't know which to use. Are the ones with 4 holes (per side) the same size as the ones with one hole? They look interchangeable to me.

Yes they're both class 66 bobbins.

if you lay them on their sides. i think class 15 will lay flat on a table versus class 66 what has a slight curve and will rock a bit.

The 15 is significantly taller than the 66 - you won't mix them up if you had one of each.

These are both 15 bobbins - and lined up with a 66 in the middle. The 15 does have flat sides, the 66 has a bit of a curve.

Thanks everyone. Looks like what I have is 66 bobbins. I thought it had way too much wiggle room in the bobbin case (on my 15). I'll have to keep looking for the right bobbins, or go buy some :D.

My wife used both class 15 and class 66 bobbins in her Bernina930 Record. She said it made no difference. I've tried it in several Singers and clones that use the class 15s and the class 66 bobbins have worked in all of them.
I don't do it as a rule, but when I run out of bobbin and there sits a full one, well ................. Joe |
Either one will work just fine, I have some of the type on the right, came with my 1910 Singer red eye.
