Help identifying music machine

Afternoon,

I recently picked up a Sears RoebucK Co pedal machine. I am having a hard time identifying the approximate year. The serial number is D967578.

On the front is only says “Minnesota” with no mode number.

I have pictures and I am trying to download them.

There are accessories with the machine with the name “Davis” on them.

The machine is run manually with a pedal, and a leather belt.

I appreciate any help!

Singer.com has a site on line that you put the serial number in to a search box and it tells you the month, day, year and city where it was made.

Sears sold machines under the Minnesota name, they were made by and assortment of companies, with Davis being one of the earlier ones. Machine is probably somewhere in the 1900-1925 range.

I kept doing some research and I think it’s a Minnesota model A, Davis E underfeed.

I read an earlier post where it states it maybe an “A” before they marked the machine with the identifying letter.

I know it’s a vague question but any idea on the value?

Not anymore. singerco.com used to have serial numbers, but about a year or so ago, singerco.com went away. Now singer.com does not have the information singerco once had. I found https://www.singer.com/support/machine-value which actually links to http://ismacs.net/singer_sewing_mach...-database.html

The dates listed with the serial numbers are the date that the serial number was "allocated" but it wasn't actually made on that date. Also the ismacs link is for Singer machines and needless to say is not all inclusive.

It's not a dollar figure, but here's the answer to your question:

A couple of days ago, a Singer 66 Redeye treadle in beautiful, pristine condition (perfect gold and red decals) in a parlor cabinet that was also in great condition, was advertised on Craigslist in St. Lous for $75.00. It was so pristine, you almost thought it was a fake or had been repainted. Of course, it wasn't, as it would cost hundreds to get it repainted.
