Help identifying Singer Treadle Machine
 

Vibrating Shuttle. Serial # K405712 dated August 1902. Full Size. Looks like a 27 but has the bobbin winder down near the bottom instead at the top. Winder doesn't have a rubber wheel - is it supposed to? I have manual for 127-3 & 128-3 and 27 & 28, and one that just says Vibrating Shuttle that actually looks just like my machine (except mine has been repainted).

What do I have? And do I need a rubber tire for bobbin winder? And does anyone have an actual picture of how the bobbin winder is supposed to be threaded. All my manuals give written directions as in go to a, then b, etc. Guess I'm really visual.

It's not supposed to have the rubber wheel. The treadle belt operates the bobbin winder directly (try it - very cool).
My manual, VS2 or 27 (they're pretty much the same) shows a picture.

Oh manicmike thanks for the information. I definitely have a 27. Now all I need is a picture of how to thread the bobbin for winding. The shuttle is marked 8301 and is a wasp. Bobbin is 1-1/4" from round end to round end but looks like 1-3/8" from tip to tip. Don't know if that makes sense or not. Wonder if the bobbins are easy to get. I only have one.
