Help! Need some help with my machine!
 

For somereason, the needle doesn't go into the hole to catch the bobbin thread. It was working fine until this happened! I re-threaded it, new bobbin and now what? don';t know how this happened! The needle is about 1/4 inch from the hole!! never have I had this problem.--and I truly love this little machine!:(

Is the needle bent? This happens sometimes when you sew over a pin.

Turn it off and then back on. You may have moved the needle over accidently when threading the needle. There is usually a botton to touch to do this. You may have touched it.

It would then straighten up when you start to sew, just turn the wheel to check it.

ok, i replaced the needle, thread and read the instruction booklet--the wheel doesn't let the needle go into the hole to catch the bobbin thread. I have spent almost 1 1/2 hours trying to re-do everything I can think of but to no avail. It's almost as if it;s locked up but the thread does pull through when I pull it.I wish I knew what caused this because I did make 2 lap quilts before happened. I will try anything but we don;t have any repair shops around here, so it's really up to me to fix!!!

Do you have a plate on that just has a small hole or one that you can zigzag with. Do you have a machine that you can move your needle settings on. I found one time that I had changed to my smaller hole but forgot to put the needle back in normal setting

The needlebar on the featherweight runs through the casting. Which means it can do only one thing...go up and down in a straight line, not side ways at all. If upon coming down it does not line up with the needleplate hole, then the hole has moved or the needle itself is at an angle. Make sure the needleplate is not crooked. Make sure the needle is not set up into the bar at an angle.

Change the needle. Make sure the flat part of the new needle is against the flat part of the shaft. Check your manual for threading path. On a featherweight, if memory serves, one threads from the left of the needle eye to the right. Put one drop of oil on the needle bar, and while you are at it, one drop everywhere else metal meets metal but not on the gears. Gears get grease only.
