Help Needed ID of Antique Sewing Machine
 

Hi Everyone,

I recently picked up a sewing machine that I can't seem to find any information on and am hoping someone here knows a little about the machine. The name "Cosmo" is on both sides of it and it has a Hamilton Beach motor. Also came with a foot pedal and cover but no identification on either the cover or foot pedal.

Nice find. No idea yet. Hamilton Beach was used by many and also used for retro-electrics. Love the needle length on the slide. Do you have the shuttle and bobbins? Protect your plugs, they are tricky to source. Maybe it was personalized for Kramer.

Steve your machine is made by Davis. It will take a boye #10(Davis long) or a regular 15X1 needle. I have Davis machines and some take the 15X1 and some take the #10 Just match it to the one on the plate.

All the Davis I have with the needle on the plate take the 15x1 size needle. The "long" needle is quite a bit longer than the 15x1 needle. This looks like the 3/4 size machine, and if so it may take a shorter shuttle than the full size Davis.

I have a 3/4 Davis machine that takes a full size Shuttle (MN model B) and two 3/4 Davis machines that take the shorter shuttle. In fact, I bought the second one specifically to get another shuttle (machine is very bad shape) as the short shuttles are very rare. Regular size are easy to get.

Davis put lots of different names on their machines - almost as many as National.

Thanks to everyone for the information. I just took the plates off and the shuttle and bobbin are there. The shuttle is about 1-7/8" long. Does that makes it a long or short shuttle? Also, on the shuttle is stamped "Davis" so there you go :)
