Help please Singer 193 parts interchangeable with popular models?

I have my eye on a Singer 193 - guess I'll have to make a new thread, but I'll ask here also. It seems like a rare model. Possibly 193q (made in Mexico in 60s). No real info available online. It comes with a table, foot pedal, but seens foolish if I can't find any parts or info at all on this rare model.

Is it safe to assume that the more popular models (15 / 66, etc) parts will be interchangeable even though most are made in USA, etc. Or will I be stuck with a mexican model with no parts availability? It's available close to where I live and in seemigly good condition, but I want to use it and not retire it at the 1st breakdown.

Anyone know anything about these?

Thank you

Welcome. We like pictures. In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images...es/biggrin.png Leon beat me, again.

I didn't see many references to 193. I did see a pinterest image for gumtree ad in Australia, but of course it is an old post. It has a different manual cover than is seen at https://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/manuals/
Seeing the machine at https://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/193/ It looks like it is probably a class 15 machine. The common parts like needles, feet, bobbins and spool pins are probably interchangeable with several other models. Things like nose plate, stitch length assembly and such probably are harder to come by. Without seeing close up of the tension assembly, I can only guess that there probably one that would work, if it was missing.

Wow, I wondered why that model didn't seem familiar. I bet there were not a bunch made. good Luck.

Janey, I just happened to have a chunk freed up in my plans and so , of course, I went to quilting board.

Welcome aboard.

I would avoid that one unless you were looking for a shelf queen.

Why? Did you find some place that indicates it has plastic gears? It sure looks like the old black machines.

Yes, the singer 193 will be using same parts as the singer 66 and 99k. Same with the feet.

Do you have one or a manual? According to https://www.singersewinginfo.co.uk/193/ it is a "vertical oscillating hook" which would be like the 15 class machines. Not the 66 and 99 which are horizontal.
