Oh, u got a BLACK 301! Nice! I am keeping my eyes open for one.

nice start you got going there - I just converted my dining room into my quilting room so I'd have more floor space in my sewing room for sewing machines! And I've got 6 in the living room and three in the bedroom too. I also have SMAD (sewing machine attachment disorder). I've got attachments for machines I probably will never own. I think Greist made them in about 45 different styles . . .

That prayer is great!

Gretchen, My goodness- you certainly jumped into the deep end with both feet! I'm quite impressed. Sure we can't entice you to dabble in the treadle section as well?

Yeah - treadles - that's the ticket!
I'm going to pick up my first treadle tomorrow....I'm sure I'll be fine ...I only want just this one....

i must say your collection is colorful! And artfully arranged for their photo shoot. The little Kenmore is in TERRIFIC shape, as is the darling case it's with.

too funny!

Too right. That 301 made me research their availability here is Australia. It seems they are extremely rare (I've never seen one).

I thought the A in SMAD was for addiction, but neither is a disorder surely.
Surrounded by lovely old machines, I feel very ordered indeed, so maybe I don't have it :p (yes that's denial).

Sewing Machine Addiction Denial?

Hi Gretchen!
Admitting you have an addiction is the first step.

You might want to embroider the Sewing Machine addicts prayer onto a throw pillow...

God, grant me the serenity to pass on the machines I cannot save,
The courage to save the machines I can,
The wisdom to know the difference,
And forgive me for ignoring the first one from time to time

:-)

I LOVE IT!!!!!

Welcome to the "club"! I can't believe you found those machines in my state! I would have been all over them if I had found them! But, alas, I live on the other end of the state, so we won't be in competition. Congrats on your addiction, I mean your great finds!
