does it fold down????? except even if it did the fabric would catch on it........maybe be some DH was resentful of wifes devotion to her sewing machine.....maybe he wanted her to bring home grocries not fat quarters

I saw that too. I was wondering about the side projection and wondering if it had some sort of purpose for sewing horse tack?
