How to clean this piece?

I'm working on a 401a. Both the front piece and the one pictured are somewhat discolored. Any ideas how to remove the cloudiness. From how dry the pad under this machine and the machine itself is, I would guess that it spent most of it's life face down in the cabinet. There was grungy, oily, sticky yuck on the front where it leaked from the inside onto the front of the machine. So this discoloration may be some kind of lubricant.

Any ideas?

I use mild soapy water, cotton swabs and microfiber cloths if the dirt doesn't come of with just a damp cloth to begin with. I polish up parts with a resin based car polish, it's known to remove cloudy patches some times, but there's no guarantee. The yellow paint is probably delicate and you have to be careful not to rub too much. I would test with just a dab of polish on a cotton swab to check if the paint can take the treatment.
