How to install monogram attachment to Sears 158.19141 or 1914 machine

I recently purchased a Kenmore Model 1914 and it came with a monogram attachment and box of cams. My husband and I can not get it to attach. It seems too big. It's oval, as opposed to some circular ones I've seen on line. I called the local sewing machine place and the man said I'd need some special thing to put on the back of the machine in order to attach it. Any help or advice? Thanks.

Patty, if you don't get an answer, go to the Yahoo group on Kenmore sewing machines. https://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/...nmoresSew/info

That address may not be exactly right, as I am already a member, but it will get you close enough to find the join page. You just have to have a yahoo.com (or ymail.com) email address which is free. You also have to join, which takes about 24 hours to get approved. (Just to keep out spam and hucksters)

Most likely, they can help.

I noticed this video on youtube, but I don't know if it's the same monogrammer. There's a blog post that might have a bit of info too.

I think that the monogrammer attaches to the machine from the front and is in place of the 'shuttle cover.' You will need a foot that should be included with the attachment. There is a pdf in the last post of https://www.quiltingboard.com/vintag...s-t169402.html

Good luck on getting it figured out and then post pictures, please!?! I'd love to see some samples.
