How to loosen screws

I have to put new pads on one of my featherweights and have gotten two of the screws off but I can't get the other two loose at all. I tried putting some oil on them and let them sit over night and they are still tight as can be. Wondering if anyone has a suggestion on how I can loosen them up.

Liquid Wrench (easy to find) or Kroil (better but harder to find.)

A little tap, tap, tapping might help. PB blaster worked on some things for me, but I've been told to be careful not to get it on the rest of the machine, decals, finish, wood finish, etc. Some say a little heat from the hair dryer might help...

A little PB Blaster and a little hair-dryer heat works for me.

Since GooGone works so well to remove gunk of all kinds, it may seep into the screw area and loosen it. Use the lemon-smelling GooGone oil, not the one that smells like paint remover. Two entirely different things. Good luck.

Besides chemical penetrating oils and heat, a proper set of hollow ground screwdrivers, such as those sold for gunsmithing go a long way to getting out stubborn screws.
I use my gunsmithing screwdriver set as much on sewing machine screws as I do guns.
Sets can be had for a reasonable price and they help keep the screw slots from being messed up.

I'll second the good gunsmithing screwdriver set---indispensable.

I use a Wheeler Engineering 89 piece set which I've been happy with.
