Very later serial number. the latest records I am aware of stop at 1876 and at 700,000 something

It came with a Shuttle and Bobbin in great shape.
Worth the $50 all by themselves

OK Steve the Guru of all things metal, now you can tell us how you are going to repair the broken hinge receiver.

Don't be too hard on him! Have you ever seen loaders work on the docks to load anything for shipping. They throw packages like they're tossing bales of hay. When my dad shipped a storage cart that was very heavy, he put fragile all over the box and even insured it. It was a mess but luckily really not a lot of money invested. I reimbursed him for his costs. Miss him very much!

I took the face completely apart and cleaned it. Lubed it, Spun it. Moves better than my other Howe B...hehe

Took the tension and the stitch length indicator apart and cleaned them too...

WoW!!! What a difference a few hours can make! May I ask, what did you use on the face to make her shine so nicely?

Thanks,
Gretchen

Gretchen - I took it completely apart and wire wheeled it clean. Soft wire wheel, gentle pressure, careful positioning...

Last night I attacked the bag of extras with Brasso and the wire-wheel

Notice the wrench? I have two other Howe Treadles and two Heads, and this is the first Howe wrench I have seen.

Also the needle like device here... It has a long slot and a hole on top. The tip is flat and smooth. Lookls like either a broken BIG needle or a "stiletto" for manipulating fabric for hemmers and such

Next is cleaning up the bed.
