I was 201 bad.....again.

I saw a sign that said estate sale. I had to stop and ask. Sure enough, there was a cabinet. I try to explain it to my husband, who is a hunter, that seeing the closed cabinet is like hearing the bushes rustle-you never know what is going to pop out. Well, it is a pretty sad cabinet, with a pretty sad 201 in it, but I give the wiring a once over and plug it in. Smooth as silk, and worn in places so you know it was well used, and loved. Pics to come tomorrow when I have daylight on my side. I have a 201 already that is a centennial badge and looks like new, but did not come in a cabinet. I didn't not need it, but I asked how much. How could I not put $20 to rescue this thing?

For a 201? Absolutely, how could you not? I've been staying away from Thrift stores and sales for this very reason, lol. Doesn't do much good though, I've still come home with two machines in the last two weeks.

Is that right, Cari? And just what did you pick up exactly?

I'd have a hard time resisting too. I have to keep telling myself I have enough to work on! I'm hoping for pics of yours though. ;)

I love the well used machines. They have so much love in them yet to give. They seem to turn nicer and sound better than the pristine machines. If you have to get rid of one get rid of the pristine keep the beater.

I would have plunked down $20 for a 201 and I already have 3, one with a centennial badge that I got for $10. Love those 201s.

COOL! Still looking for a 201 and a 401.

I called a gal I know who handles estate sales. She said they had a sewing machine but wanted like $300.00 for it. I didn't ask what it was. Whatever it is it is not in my budget. The estate sale was today. I'm staying away. I keep telling myself that. Bout ready to grab my keys though. Ugh!!

I'd plunk down $20 for almost any sewing machine....a 201 you just have to buy
