I am the luckiest person ever!

I saw an ad for a rummage sale with a dark and fuzzy pictures of a sewing machine and it looked familiar. I had missed the sale but contacted the poster and asked if the machine sold. It hadn't and I was given a contact number. I went tonght and this most wonderful person gifted me the machine! Here is the cabinet:

I was given a 1952 black shortbed Singer 301 complete with attachments, the manual, zigzagger, buttonholer, and some Singer stitch guides and sewing class guide that I have never seen. We plugged it in and it just purred and sewed as straight as could be. [ATTACH=CONFIG]575220[/ATTACH] I am just in awe of this persons generosity. I've seen truly kind acts before but this has rocked me. The owner would not take money, but the offer of one of my tote bags I like to weave was accepted. You are soooo lucky! I have my mother's 301a long bed and it does sew like a dream. I pieced and whole coat done with a log cabin variation on that machine and it's awesome.

Absolutely fantastic gift.
The gripper is a handy tool. It looks like a spool pin for the one thread embroidery attachment on the box, between the screwdrivers. Those are some nice totes. Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. |
