Interesting. A Western Electric with a Hamilton Beach style motor. Did Hamilton Beach make those motors or was it another company? I've seen the same motor badged Singer too. Rodney |
Hamilton Beach did make those motors and badged them for whoever wanted them. There is a Singer 66 red eye on GW right now set up with one that's marked Singer. Nice looking machine.

I think that's originally a treadle head, the bases drop into the cabinet, and have holes for the belt. The motors are a retrofit. I have a similar setup on my New Home. The neat thing, is the motors are easily reverseable, so can be used with direct drive, or belt drive.

Western Electric is a badged name anyway -forget who made them and can't tell for sure from the back side. I think it's a National, just like my little Wards Brunswick
