I have a ?? on sewing belts
I have a 1934-35(?), not sure which year. I think 1935. Correct me. Anyhow the ? I have is a belt for my featherweight singer machine. . It's still useable. But show's wear. I was told if you get a new belt it's could be a little hard on the motor being new. Should I buy a new belt, or check ebay for a belt. And should I search for a used belt. Any good web sight to check for a belt. Don-isewman

You give us very little to go on and rather confusing info. I prefer brand new when it's an option, I like the black rubber v-belts; other prefer the lugged neoprene type. A new belt runs much smother than an old belt in bad condition. Fit it correctly, not too tight and it will not be hard on the motor bearings.

Here are two belts for a FW, which one to choose is up to you. Very good website, good prices, good service. Just remember that it's important on a FW to have the belt as loose as possible without it slipping. http://shop.sew-classic.com/Belt-17-...144-194144.htm http://shop.sew-classic.com/Belt-171...221-1712LT.htm Cari |
