I Purchased a Featherweight 221K!
3 Attachment(s)
I went to "look" at what this seller had to offer today and he had 4 221k's and 1 222k free arm (Hope I got the number right) that were his mothers.
After examining all the 221k's I decided on this one as it seemed the cleanest, came with the most stuff and sewed well right off the bat. The case is a little scratched, but it doesn't smell at all. She is a 1946 model, made in New Jersey. She sews a wonderful stitch. I haven't cleaned her up yet...I'll have to do some research to see what is the best way to do that....But, here she is. He also has a 222k free arm there in mint condition for $1450.00 Canadian if anyone is interested. (That would be just over $1000.00 USD) I wouldn't mind taking it to the US for you to ship it. PM me if that's of interest to anyone.

There is a website that gives lots of information on maintenance/servicing of featherweights. Sorry I don’t know the web address but I know someone on here will. LOL

I have a Featherweight 221. I bought it a few years ago, and use it occasionally. It had the straight foot on it. And because my "new" machine broke down and is in the shop, I set up the Featherweight to use. It came with the wider zigzag foot, and I wanted to try that to see if it would work better to hang on to the fabric. Well that is a long shank---and my machine takes a short shank foot. Does anyone have an extra short shank zig zag foot that they would want to trade or sell?

Congratulations! I love my little featherweight. It is my traveling machine. Someday I would like to get the extension table since I am used to sewing with a machine set into a cabinet, but it isn't an urgent need. (That would mean other item to take along.) Anyway - I also have the zig zag attachment and an embroidery attachment for my 15-91, which says they will work on the featherweight as well. I have not tried it on my featherweights since I have a Janome MC6600P which has more stitches and so does my Husqvarna Designer Topaz sewing/embroidery machine. But I did try them on the 15-91 and just laughed at how the attachments threw the fabric back and forth. Not sure what I was expecting and more impressed my mother used them all the time when I was growing up.

I have two of the little beauties. I have 2 granddaughters that will get them if they want to sew. I will need to set them up in my studio once I’m out there full time
