I should look in the attic more often

When we built our house 12 years ago, I put lots and lots of stuff in the attic. I went up today looking for sewing stuff and found a Singer 99K circa 1953, that I don't ever remember getting. OMG!! Major memory lapse here. I know at one point, if my DH saw a sewing machine thrown to the curb during trash pickup, he would stop. I think that's where it came from, but????? The 99K needs tension assembly, thread spindle felt, belt, the face plate, and bottom wood case. That's just my assessment. Bobbin assembly is there w/a bobbin w/thread in it. I can turn the hand wheel. DH will go thru the machine and figure out what else I need. Where would I find items to repair this machine?

Hey! Try Sew-Classic.com-she carries a LOT of vintage Singer stuff and I just bought some things from her. She seems to be really reliable and the folks on the Board use her as well. Let us see her when you get her cleaned up!

Definitely try Sew-Classic.com. I just received my first order. Very fast service - ordered Sunday and had the order Wednesday morning. Everything was top quality and IMHO prices very good. Good luck with your project. Your decals look to be in very good condition.

Talked w/DH last night. Found out where it came from. He used to do insurance repair work - fire, water, etc.; 25+ years ago. He salvaged the machine, but the case was badly water damaged.

Definitely Sew-Classic.com for your parts needs. Jennie has most of the parts you need. Also, you can find cases on Ebay. Mostly, you can say it needs is a lot of elbow grease. Please send more pictures as you go. We love that stuff.
