ID and Date of machine
5 Attachment(s)
I posted earlier this week wanting info on my great grandmother's MW sewing machine. I have attached more pictures. It has a Nov. 30, 1886 patent date. I have all the parts.

Can you post a picture of the other side of the machine? It will be easier to try to identify the manufacturer. I like the decals.

Disregard the picture request, I looked at the original post, and you received some helpful responses over there. And based on my experience if OurWorkBench responded with information you may safely assume there isn't much more than what she gave.

Thank you, Joe. However, I just have read a lot from those with more experience than I have with these older machines - like jlhmnj, Macybaby, Glenn and SteveH. I also have downloaded the ISMACS Needle List pdf which can be found at https://ismacs.net/needle_and_shank/...edle-list.html
As far as the patent date, while it could have been made shortly thereafter, it could have been many years later. So the only thing a patent date means is that it could not be older than that. Janey - Neat people never make the exciting discoveries I do. Not affiliated with off-site link(s) |
National made a lot of early MW machines. but I don't know the dates.
