I bought this machine as part of a lot purchase. I hoped it would clean up better than it did. Since I have to thin down the herd, I am going to post it on my local classified ads but I have no idea what to price it at...the only thing I seem to have found out is that it was made by Singer in the 1800s. It does work, it has the bullet style bobbin case and the bobbin winder works. It is missing the tiny screw that holds the needle in place so I can't thread it to try and make it sew. Any thoughts on what to price it at would be appreciated.

where were you looking that some idiot said that this was made by Singer in the 1800's?

Try looking up New Home, you may have better luck finding information.

Just a lesson in not everything you read on the internet is true, I guess. Thanks for the link.

yep, It's a new home. Most likely around the 1910-1920's but could be as early as the late 1890's

That machine has LOTS of potential. just need a lot of cleaning still.

Her is a picture of mine after cleaning. It's a slightly different model.

Try a sewing machine shop for a suitable screw. Don't let that hold you up. Perhaps you can find a temporary substitute so you can sew until you find the correct one. Also, try a gun shop. Others have had luck there. Be sure to take the machine with you.
