Ideas for an extension replacement for garage sale 301
I need ideas for an extension table for my 301. I got it yesterday at a garage sale. I had it up and running great in about 2 hours. Paid only $20.00 for it. It looked pretty rough and barely moved but with a little work it sews really nice. It is missing the little extension shelf. I just wondered if anyone had any ideas for either a replacement or a good substitute. Everything else was there and in working order. She cleaned up nice. I post pictures at another time. Thanks for reading.

The folding part of the bed broke off, right? Someone occasionally sells one on ebay. Or get one of the big table extensions and just do without it http://www.etsy.com/listing/10944798...22k?ref=market

dmarie,
I'm probably asking the obvious, but have you a LSMG that keeps old stuff? That would be the first place I looked. Or, check the net for sources of FW and 301 parts. There is a bunch of them. Joe |
Thanks for the reply. It looks like someone just removed the extension. I will probably just make something work for now and keep my eyes open for one on Ebay. I thought someone might another idea. This is my seventh vintage machine and I love them all.

Last summer I picked up a sewing desk something like this for
around $30: http://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/roberts-3200table.php for using with my vintage Singers. I shim the machines up/down with magazines as needed to get a flat sewing surface. Yes, I sometimes have an open space on the right but it doesn't bother me. |
I'd seen a 301 shoe-horned into a cabinet table by removing the folding bed extension- very sad. I'm sure one will turn up from someone's stash for you.
