Congrats on a wonderful Father's Day Gift Steve. I am also fascinated by the bobbin and shuttle design. I tried reading the patent dates but could not determine the approx date of mfg. How old is she?

it is interesting the way they listed them on the right side
APR 25 1871 DEC 12 '''' NOV 26 ''72 JAN 28 ''73 JAN '' '''' MAR 18 '''' May 27 '''6 (This last digit is not for sure. I am looking to see others with clearer stamps) The interesting thing is the seller told me she is still looking for the box of attachments (OH be still my pounding heart) and the original bill of sale dated 1892 (Not sure I believe that date, but we shall see if they find them....) |
Did a kid come up with that as a Father's Day gift; or are you the one who had to find it, and a kid paid for it? Either way, seems pretty lucky to me. I have one son who occasionally runs across a really special machine for me; the rest of the kids just look to heaven for help when I tell them to find me an old machine for my birthday, etc. They are pretty good to ask me what I want, but usually just wind up giving me a new granny gown or blouse....

DD found it, Heather bought it.

Oh my, my heart would be beating hard also for the original bill of sale and attachments. That would be an interesting geneaology exercise.

Steve,
I watched your video, cool machine. What was the lever on the left hand side of the machine that you were moving? Sharon W. in Texas |
that is the stitch length adjustment knob watch as I'm moving it, you can watch the feed dogs change.
