ISMACS Question

I found out that my new Singer treadle is a Model 66 (G2387310) with a manufacture date of 2/3/1912.

On the ISMACS site, there is a column marked "Quantity Allotted". For my machine this number is 50,000. Does that mean that 50,000 of these machines were manufactured?

I believe it was also made in Elizabethport, New Jersey, if I am reading the charts properly.

Thanks for your help.

It means Singer set aside 50,000 serial numbers to use for the Model 66 at that time, it really does not say how many they actually produced, or when -

I think it's relatively safe to say your machine was made between 2/3/1912 and 12/18/1912 when Singer next allocated serial numbers for model 66. But you can almost guarentee it was NOT made on 2/3/1912, as it's reasonable to assume that Singer allocated numbers before they actually needed to use them.

Thanks for the info! I knew I was not understanding the chart. LOL Still it's pretty cool to own a machine that's 101 years old!
