I've been gone a long while BUT i have new machines!

I've been gone a long time, but im back with a few machines that are new to me! First up and most recent machine is a Singer 15-125. Her name is Nona, after my fiance's grandmother... since it was originally her machine. her aunt was trying to figure out what to do with it but didnt want to give it to goodwill, when she heard that i liked old machines she was thrilled to give it to me. and im thrilled to have it in my collection because i adore the Fiance's grandma. shes such a sweet woman. i hope i can imbue some of her talent as she was a master seamstress in her day. :)

Then theres the mystery Singer treadle my friend gave me! ISMACS told me it was a 66 but the fact that it has a front facing tension disk has me really confused. She has beautiful decals, and my friend gifted her to me because she had no room and was bringing her mothers treadle home. the machine was in exchange for some favors i did for her.

she does have the same bobbin winder as my 66 so im not sure what to make of her!? but she's beautiful none the less! no name for her yet. Maybe something cliche like Shelly.

It's always lovely to return with gifts so thank you! :)
I thought that all 66 models in the U.S. had the red eye decals, so if you have doubts about it look up the serial number (although I suspect this is how ISMACS told you it was a 66). Does it have "Made in Great Britain" on it anywhere? If so that would explain the decals.
The decals are really lovely. You could brighten them up more with a nice sponge bath with Singer oil. Worked wonders for mine.
What year was the 15-125 made? Late '50s?

The treadle's decals are "Tiffany" or sometimes called "Gingerbread". I believe it's a 115 though according to ISMACS 15's also had that decal also. They used the decal from circa 1900-circa 1930.

Try a 66 bobbin on the bobbin winder. You will be able to slide it onto the shaft but you should have a difficult time pushing the bobbin winder down. The bobbin should be too narrow. That was how I discovered that my mil had mistakenly purchased 66 bobbins for her 15-91.

Some of the US 66's were not red eyes, they were rather plain.

http://sewinseeds.blogspot.com.au/20...inger-115.html has a 115 that looks identical to yours.

It looks like the 115 treadle I had, sold, and miss!

What beautiful decals on that black Singer. Manicmike is right, some oil on that machine will brighten everything right up & those decals will look so fabulous !!!
