I've never seen anything like this one before!

Maybe I've been living under a rock, but this one looks so unusual!

The ad says it's a chain-stitch machine. Not anything I need, but it's really pretty, though. :)

Neat looking!

They don't come up that often. I don't know about value for it but it doesn't seem too out of line for an uncommon machine.

There's one of those in Cincinnati on CL. It's been sitting for a while at $95.

I think it requires special needles. Or at least uncommon ones.

There it is: http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/atq/4373344617.html

it is the Singer Model 24. Singer's version of the Willcox & Gibbs Chainstitcher.

I’ve got a 1911 Singer 24-50 that someone has setup to use a motor for power, with both machine and motor mounted flat on a board. The motor is an old Kenmore type that takes the Kenmore 3-spade plug and control. It’s got a belt groove in the handwheel for the motor, plus the normal pulley that is designed to be powered from below. I don’t know if the extra belt groove was something that Singer offered, or it was milled by a previous owner. I’d love to have a handcrank model.

My spreadsheet says that it takes a 24-1 needle, but I’ve never tried sewing with it. I use it for decoration up on a shelf in the sewing room.

And here is yet another similar one but the decals are pretty much non-existent and according to the ad, it does not work. Also has dents and cracks and etc. but it can be yours for a mere $79.00 or OBO.

Wonder why there are a string of these showing up right now?

That is one that made it to my "want" list LOL!! If I found one like the OP at that price, I'd snap it up in a heart beat!

Though then I 'd have another treadle cabinet I don't have room for.
