Juki LU-563 presser foot release

I'm new to the forum here and thanks for letting me in. My name is Leo and I am from the Netherlands

I have a question that I would like to put to the experts here,

I have a Juki LU-563 sewing machine. This sewing machine works perfectly, however 1 thing is not working properly. There is a knee lifter with which the presser foot can be raised.
The pressure foot rises neatly when the lever is operated. It's going to be a bit heavy. I discovered that the running wheel at the bottom of the pressure pin had disappeared. I put a new wheel on it. The lever can now be operated with much less force. If the presser foot has to be raised with the hand, it should also be possible to release it with the knee lift. However , this does not work . If I help the rod system on the machine and put a lot of pressure on it, it works. So something isn't right.

Help will be very appreciated.

I don't have any ideas about a Juki. But I wanted to welcome you to the board. I hope you get suggestions for your machine.

You have an industrial machine. You have to have the pedal pressed a little to get the handwheel to move manually. Don't know if that has anything to do with anything.... but it might.

I have a couple thoughts. First, you may want to adjust the presser foot tension so it isn't so tight. It's the screw/knob on the top/left of your machine. Righty-tighty, Lefty-loosey.

Second, the linkage may just need a good cleaning and oiling. If you follow what moves as you press the knee lever, just make sure everything that's supposed to move, does. Tri-flow Superior Lubricant works better than regular sewing machine oil for gummed-up mechanisms.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "running wheel at the bottom of the pressure pin." Could you post a picture?
