Kenmore 15 Clone Light Rewire help needed!!
 

I have a Kenmore clone 15 that had the wire snap off to the light right at the base of the fixture.

I need to rewire it but cannot figure out how to open the bake-a-lite join to get at the inner wiring. Anyone have suggestions? I was thinking something along the lines of got off to weaken the glue.

I haven't rewired any sewing machine lights, so thought I would let someone else answer. I thought I saw somewhere how to rewire a sewing machine light, but can't find it now. I'm thinking you are referring to the light for the one you posted about at http://www.quiltingboard.com/vintage...e-t221491.html That looks to be a little different than some that I have seen. I personally wouldn't try to unglue the parts. I'm wondering if you can get to the fixture from the inside, especially since the wire is broken off at the base. It seems like I have seen some that the part that holds the bulb actually unscrews.

That is the correct aching. I can't get new pictures to load from my phone. There appears to be a rivet holding the inside together not a screw. The light wire cracked off right at the base so I can't get to it.

I don't know if many people have been successful at getting these apart and back together. There are replacement lights like this one but they are black. To find a blue one you'll have to watch the auction sites.

Rivets are a bit more work, rather a pain sometimes, but not impossible. I wouldn't give up right away, let it rest a day or so and give it a new attempt. Inspect parts carefully, sort of ease the bits appart and don't be brutal.
