Kenmore 19233

I love my Kenmore 19233, does anyone out there have one and feel the way as I do about this baby?

It is not made any longer but I did some research and it is a Janome built machine and exactly like one of their named machines.

Would love to hear what others think about their machine.

Thanks, mj

I have several Kenmores and love them all. The one I use most is a 385.1960180. My sister has one just like it. They are also Janome made and were made in 1989. I also have a 158.13200 that was my mothers, a 158.17300 that takes cams, a 385.1788180 that is currently "down", and a 148.271 Commander that I keep set up for FMQ. Kenmore may never have "made" a machine, but they certainly picked the good ones to badge. Can't go wrong with a Kenmore.

Kenmore machines are fantastic machines at usually great prices.

All of the 158 and 385 machines I have had were solid and dependable, and had lots of features.

My first machine was a Kenmore i bought at Sears 25-30 years ago, I love it. It has never had any problems, or been in for repair. I had a new Kenmore that was great but I didn't love it as much, even though it did more. My baby lock, a brand new machine, has been in for repair and needs to go again. urgh.
My first quilt class was at a store that sold Janome. They insulted my old kenmore to no end, wanting me to buy a Janome. They even told me I should leave the pins in and sew over them, something I never do with my machines. I was so upset with t he class and how they put down my little workhorse machine.

25-30 years ago was around the time that Janome started making Kenmore machines.

My Kenmore/Janome is a 385.19606, computerized. It is one great machine. It was a revelation for me after having several cheapy machines.

I had one for about 3 years and then the motherboard went out, the only thing the machine would do was a straight stitch after that happened. The repair guy for Sears said it would cost $300-400 to fix it. I only paid
$400 for it on sale, so I gave it away to somebody who just wanted a straight stitch machine.
