My guild buddy passed this on to me, as someone passed it on to her. I can't see another like in on the net. What do you think? I haven't tried sewing with it yet, but I love it.

Black like my mother's Singer-even a similar box with lid

Not sure if this drops the feed dogs?

Looks pretty cool to me!
I'd sure be experimenting with it!
Enjoy your new toy.

I guess that it is a Singer knock off. An HA-1, to be exact. Thanks for the info from "vintagekenmoressew", I was even able to download a manual. Thanks again to my generous quilter friend.

I've not seen one like that! Nice looking machine and well cared for. Enjoy!

I'm pretty sure the knob is the adjustment to the strength of the presser foot - i.e. how much pressure is asserted on the foot. With the embroidery and silk, you would want less pressure to hold the fabric down. Clear as mud right?

Mom has an old Kenmore that had a similar know, but hers adjusted the pressure and the height of the feed dogs.

She's a beauty.

For years Kenmore products appeared to be the same as many brand names - washing machines, stoves, etc. Why not Singer?

Love it. Enjoy your new machine.

Do you have a manual? It has a section that tells what to do with those feed dogs and that dial.
