Look @ this Beauty 1910 SINGER Treadle
 

She is a Singer Treadle 1910, her serial # is G6012478, which dates her to 1910. I know i need to call Singer to get more info. Her body appears to be in great shape and the decals look gorgeous as does her treadle table~she is non working. I do need to get more photos of the top closed so I can actually see the top, and to make sure she is secure when she closes and doesn't fall out of her hinges.The seller is asking $125 OBO and she is 3 hours south of me, so I would have to commit to buy before I decided to drive my truck down to pick her up (it would cost $60 just to drive there and back to get her).Advice, comments, info on the machine, cost suggestions would be greatly appreciated.:thumbup:I know I have gone crazy:D with these vintage sewing machines but I can't stop, it is such an addiction:pIm not worried that she doesn't work DH got my New Home running like new so I know we could restore her. It's nice Kay...a model 66 "Redeye" or "Redhead" decals. Looks like backclamp attachments, they can be spendy, but not impossible to find. Cabinet is really pretty!

As for where to put her? I told the spousal unit that if he would just get rid of his recliner and entertainment center, I could fit at least 4 more machines in the living room! :D
We live in a 2 bedroom...I was telling Whigrose earlier that I have two cabinet machines in my bedroom, two cabinet machines in my sewing/spare bedroom, my dining room is lined with 6 cabinets, and one in my living room...the portables live where ever they get set down at! :D I have one more cabinet coming from the guy that does my SERIOUS refinishing stuff for my Redeye, and that will be it for cabinets...

What are back clamp attachments???

You know how the attachments (presser feet) go on your featherweight? Those are "side clamp" attachments. The attachments for this machine clamp in the back instead of on the side. I can't think of another machine other than this particular model that are backclamps... (doesn't mean there aren't any, just that I can't think of one..Wheeler & Wilson machines are a backclamp of sorts, but not the same)

Caroline, I will ask her for close ups of the machine. She posted that she has another 66 I date her to 1911 that her mother motorized in the 60's. I asked her for photos of that one as well:). Sounds like this one is a table top.

Here is a message she posted about the 2nd 66 she has that her mother motorized. Not sure what she is tailing about when she mentions a $100 junk box. She describes the decals on the machine, does this mean anything?:)

Ok I have to go looking I believe I have one of those $100 wooden boxes with "junk" in it. Also I have another singer. My mom back in the 60's had it motorized the # on it is G9852752. It has gold decoration on it with Egyptian Pharow head and wings and a lion body.

she might mean a wooden puzzle box for accessories - but I haven't seen any of those selling for $100 lately. The other machine is a Sphinx - those are a dime a dozen around here but I can't find a red eye anywhere. :-(

She's beautiful! I think my forever favorite with be 'Charlee', my Red Eye. Three hours is a drive but pack snacks and water and go on a road trip girl.

I see she is missing part of the 'framing' on the casing that holds the drawers but that could be scabbed in. Were I you if I was looking for one of these machines, I'd bite.

I have been dragging my husband out to find machines. He comes along willingly when I promise to take him out to dinner. In the last month or so I have bought a 1915 Singer treadle 15-30 and a 1953 Black Singer 301 Shortbed in a Singer #42 cabinet. I have had so much fun cleaning up the machines and making them "sing!" I am waiting for warmer weather to refinish the cabinets!

I found mine on ebay and they were "spendy" but I got everything, will I use them? probably not LOL

I bet the "wooden box with "junk" in it"... is the Singer Puzzle Box. I have one and the "junk" she mentions would be all the attachments that are inside the Puzzle Box. I believe the $100 to be high though, they can be purchased on ebay and are not that pricey. JMHO, lol.
